Q: im going to buy a motherboard that doesn't have any onboard graphics the things is that im a beginner on build pc's and i need to know if my system will start without the onboard graphics are do i need to buy a graphic card with the motherboard so that it will boot witch is what i planned to do in the first place
A: You have to have a Video card when no on board graphics is present in order to have video, your system will boot, but without any picture. it will come to a halt and probably bark (beep) at you to tell you that no video card is present! I would recommend one of the two cards if your motherboard is PCI-Express 2.0 ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 graphics or nVidia GeForce 9800GTS X2
