Q: I replaced my 1st hard drive with a second hard drive. i want to be able to use my 1st hard drive as storage only but before i do that..how do i transfer files from one hard drive to another? I want to be able to transfer all the old files on my 1st hard drive to my new (2nd) hard drive. thanks okay.. so once that is done how can i access my old hard drive? and how do i transfer files from my old (1st) hard drive to my new 2nd hard drive how do you wipe the old drive??
A: The way I would normally go about this is... install your operating system on your new hard drive first, (you can have both drives plugged in at the same time) and then all you gotta do is transfer the files you want to "back up" onto your new one. At this point, I would format your old one to NTFS then copy the files I wanted to "back up" back to the old drive again
