Should I install Windows Service Pack 3 or wait?

Q:

A: One important thing is the fact that you should completely update the Operating System and ALL of the patches. If your machine is patched for the vulnerability on the HD, then YOU cannot get infected. It is the more proactive approach (patching your machine, keeping your software updated, using the most current firmware and drivers). AV is ALWAYS reactive! Service Packs are rollups of all the previous Critical Patches. It is also a more stable install of them. Unless the SP could possibly break some legacy software (such as an IE update breaking a web based data site), YOU should ALWAYS run Windows Update until nothing is left, update ALL of your software to the latest version, and make sure you have the latest firmware/drivers! EDIT - I absolutely LOVE the people that say you dont need patches! ~smiling~ They end up being ONE MORE bot for someone to control!
