A: If you are using just a plain standard corded mouse, it will have a ball underneath it, if you turn your mouse over! You should see what looks like a little ball! There's a little plate that holes it in there, either being held with little screws or, you can turn the plate just a little bit, and it will come off and the little ball will come out, if screws are holding the plate on, you will have to take the 2 or 3 screws out to get to the ball! Take a real brite light after taking the ball out, or good flash light, and look inside the hole where the ball was! You should see white crud built up along the inside walls, use a tooth brush to remove all that white stuff, that shouldn't be in there! that's what causing the mouse pointer to be jumping all over the place! And look for hair wound up on the steel little spindles! Hair wound up on the spindles can cause big problems too! If you or anyone else eats at the computer, that is one cause of the build up, and second is your hands and finger shed skin, and that gets built up in there from off your mouse pad! If you would like to completely avoid any more problems with your mouse, it would be best to buy a new mouse, that doesn't have the ball system! Like a cordless USB mouse, or cordless mouse and keyboard! The old standard cord mouse with the ball, will always collect skin, hair and food particles from off the mouse pad, and after a while give you troubles like you are having! Cordless mouse systems, with out the ball system is the only way to go, if you don't want to have to always be cleaning the cord mouse, ball area hole! Sure most cordless mouse have to have batteries, but they do last a great deal of time, before having to change batteries! You'll wished you had switched a long time ago! Plus with a cordless mouse, you will have way more easier control over your mouse, without fighting with the mouse cord all the time! A cordless mouse is a must have for people who love playing action games online! I hope I helped you in your mouse problems! And for good! So you can have fun times again on your computer adventures without mouse problems! Plus always replace your mouse pad, at least every 6 months! A lot of stuff gets absorbed into it and can cause health problems too, with years of use! Lots of bacteria biulds up in old mouse pads! Mouse pads are cheap, your health isn't! I work online, daily for many ,many hours, so I replace my mouse pads every 2 -3 months on all 4 of my computers!
