Is GeForce 9800 GTX Video Card - 512MB DDR3 compatible with my system?

Q: I currently have a Dell inspiron 530 Intel core 2 quad cpu q6600 2.4 ghz 4gb ram 32bit windows vista i am not sure how to check wat types of pci slots i have and im not sure if this card will overwhelm my computer. i currently have a radeon hd 2400 video card and im not sure if this card is good but when i play games, people tell me to get a better video card. but in the specs it says PCI Express 2.0 and also, if i were to get the geforce 8800gt, which brand would be best?

A: Yes it's compatible, your computer has a PCI-Express x16 slot. But for the cost of a 9800GTX you can get a better card- the Radeon 4850. If you want a nice card that costs less, then grab a Geforce 8800GT. After recent price cuts, it's great bang for the buck. Update: PCI-Express 2.0 is fully backward compatible with Version 1. You can use any PCI-E x16 card on the market, no problem.
