Q: Guys, does a graphic card with fan and heatsink has more cooling and overclocking then one with just a heatsink even if they have same memory, stream processors and all other stuff(Chipset Configeration)?
A: you really cant oc a vid card w/passive cooling(just a heatsink) if ya wanna oc a card you need some good cooling....so yes its better to get one w/a fan......you can buy aftermarket coolers also for vid cards.......but the easy way to do it is to run riva tuner, you can oc with that, plus set up fan profiles.......i.e......8800gt the fan only runs at 29%......with riva tuner you can set that to 100%......overclocking or not.......keeps temps down where they belong........scott Nothing wrong w/ocing them, there all most impossible to kill....people wreck most video cards by doing volt mods or flashing a bac vid card bios............and yes regular fans do work when overclocking......you dont always need aftermarket cooling for them........that why you can turn the fan speed up to 100%
