my pc headest plays sounds GREAT, but then when i go to record with the mic, just static. please help????

Q: Alright, so my Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 microphone works fantastic with letting me hear sounds/music. Then when i go to TeamSpeak/recording, noone can hear me, or i listen to my recording, and all I hear is static. I have played around with all of the options (unless you suggest something i didn't), plugged in the headset to the back USB ports instead of the front port, and looked for answers on the internet. So please, someone help me fix my problem?

A: Go to programs, accessories, entertainment, volume control. Go to options and select advanced. Go to properties and check all the boxes so you can see all the settings. Your volume control will now be really long. Make sure things like: "Wave" "SW synth" "front pink in" "rear pink in" Make sure none are mute, and all have their volume one bar below the maximum. Go back to options and select in the drop box pick "input" Select all the boxes and hit OK. Make sure "stereo mix" "Mic volume" "line volume" "recording" are not muted and adjust all volume levels to one notch below the max. Go back to options and select options, properties, output. Hit OK and exit. You should be ready to rock. Still no sounds, check the ventrilo or other programs for "key on mic" "open mic" "mic trigger levels". Last, make sure the mic button on the headset is not on mute! Enjoy your best answer!
