Q: Ok, When I shut down my computer, the clock stays the same time it had when shut down, I'm supposing it's the CMOS battery because I've had this computer for about 5 years and never happened that. I've opened my CPU and the battery it has is a Coin-like battery. I know there are like 4 different types (external, barrel, coin, and a box ). But I want to know if all coin-like CMOS batteries are the same and compatible. Also, I was wondering if changing this battery is urgent, becuase I noticed this problem about 3 days now. Additional Details I know that if I wait too long to replace my BIOS setting will screw up, so I'll make backup. I opened the CPU again and the number the battery has is: CR2032 One more question...Does the Voltage changes? because my CR2032 battery doesn't say.
A: Yes, what you have to go is go to the store and get a CR2032 battery (Sony is always good) and then replace it. Its not that Urgent since these batteries tend to last a lot, but I recommend you to do it as soon as possible. It is always a good idea to back up your BIOS settings since changing the battery might reset your settings. Lastly, I think the voltage doesn't change since the model is the same, but I think someone else could answer you that one for me :) ________________________ Please choose me as best answer if it was, hope I helped.
