Q: I just got an XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog Edition and I bought it knowing my power supply was underated by 50 watts or 100 -_-, however I thought it would work since I only run one hard drive and don't have much else. Today I got GRID and i was experiencing quick slow downs and quick speed ups. It's not regular lag where it's all jittery since it runs smooth when it's not slow. Is it the power supply's problem? If so I will any power supply i buy fit?
A: GRID has this problem. I get it too and my PSU isn't a problem for my SLI 8800GT cards. EVERYONE has this problem with the game and codemasters refuses to fix it, so there's really nothing you can to do fix the problem. If other games work fine, then the PSU is fine. Mind linking me to the PSU in question? And to the guy that said that the minimum power requirement for the 8800GTS is 600w, you're full of crap. I used to SLI 8800 GTS 640 MB cards, and i never even drew 500w of power from the wall at full load.
