Q: everytime i play a game it crashes to a black screen. i tried old games that worked a year ago and gives me "VPU recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands." ive updated my drivers and everything. could there be something wrong with my graphics or a overheating issue? also does anyone know how much a diagnostic test would be if i took a my pc to a computer store?
A: I had a 1300 radion and my games kept on crashing. Black screen also. I took it into best buy and they said that the dedicated memory on the video card is used. They said it could not be erased. Really i am not sure if they were joshing me but i bought a new g card and my games work now. Also i had to upgrade my power supply. I donlt know how that dedicatred memory thing works but they said once its used it goes. Over 5 years i also installed a crap load of games. So to answer your question. You probably having both issues graphics and power. I would suggest a new computer. Best buy has a rediculouss new pc out for 1200. But their cnew computer is a 64 bit vista :(
