Q: I just bought the Western Digital Passport Essential. I was wondering if I really have to use the software to transfer files to the drive or if I can just make folders within the hard drive's file like "my pictures" and stuff like that. thx
A: No you dont have to you, they give that software so that it is easier to transfer more files at once , or something like. i never used the software they gave me.
