A: 1... The components should work fine together 2... Hard drives are always the slowest component. Consider getting a Raptor (10k) drive for your system drive and keeping the 500gb for storage 3... It will last you as long as you want 4... All mobos support more than one drive as JBOD, but this one does Raid 0 and 1... mirror or stripe... don't bother with it. 5... That case is plenty big enough - even if you add another HDD and two optical drives. Bonus: The power supply can supply up to 700W but will only draw the power needed for the rig. Typically, startup surges are the highest draw, but if you are running the heck out of the machine, you can see high sustained draw.
