Q: i been looking on yahoo awnsers for the last hour and it really between XFX or EVGA i dont know much about graphics cards this is the first one i am going to buy so what would you say is better and also what does overclocked or superclocked mean when people are talking about graphics cards just experienced pc users please i dont want to go buy the wrong one

A: Both XFX and EVGA are excellent brands, you can't go wrong with either... I would stay away from BFG, PNY and Chaintech. Lots of issues with defective cards and/or customer service nightmares (warranties not being honored) Many hobbyists and hardcore gamers "overclock" their computers, which is to say they configure them to operate faster than the manufacturer's specifications. Doing so usually involves adding 3rd-party cooling equipment, since overclocking processors makes them run hotter. They can overclock their CPUs, RAM and video cards. "Overclocked/Superclocked" video cards for sale means the manufacturer is shipping the cards straight from the factory with the core/memory clocks running faster than standard models, which boosts performance. This saves people the trouble of trying to overclock these cards themselves. In some cases that higher performance results in a shorter lifespan for the card- if the cooling isn't adequate the cards overheat and fail more quickly.
