I don't have an AGP slot but in its place is a long slim connector. What is it?

Q: I am wanting to install a video card in a "newish"computer. I was surprised to see I have no AGP connector. In its place is a long slim connector that I've never seen before. Does this mean I will have to go to a PCI video card for an up grade, or is there some type of video card that plugs into that strange connector? Thanks!

A: PCI slots, usually white and have a notch in the back end of the slot. http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/agp-pci.jpg PCI express slot, can range in size from 1x to 16x. The 16x usually have a clip for the PCIe card. http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/cooldrives/sata-pci-express-pci-card.jpg
