help with motherboard?

Q: i have a 754pin motherbaord by elitegroup can i put a video card in the pci slot even tho i have a agp slot????????????

A: Yes, but an AGP slot is inherently faster. It's the next design for graphics 'traffic'. PCI, then AGP, now PCI-Express. As answered, not PCI-Express x1, but PCI-Express x16. How about sum links to help explain the different technologies of the graphics expansion slots? (Not what you asked, I know. Just thought maybe this would help you form an intelligent decision, based on deductive reasoning.) 1.PCI- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peripheral_Component_Interconnect http://computer.howstuffworks.com/pci.htm http://www94.web.cern.ch/hsi/s-link/devices/s32pci64/slottypes.html 2.AGP-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGP http://computer.howstuffworks.com/agp.htm http://www.motherboards.org/articles/tech-planations/920_4.html http://www.playtool.com/pages/agpcompat/agp.html 3.PCI-Express- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_device_bandwidths (Don't forget to install the drivers, off of the CD disk that comes with the PCI Graphics card.
