Q: I am going to be a sophmore in college and want to buy a mac. but am confused about 1gb or 2gb its a $200 increase for 2gb, money is important, also will be using it for basic college stuff, surfing the web, email, facebook, chatting, watching videos, downloading music, nothing special. will it be enough, or should i spend the extra money.
A: I'd say 2GB, its worth the money cos over time it will seem to be slower, especially if you install newer, updated programs etc, and if myspace/facebook make their sites bigger, it may slow down if you only have 1GB. You may be able to upgrade it after you buy it, which could in the end be less than $100.
