Q: i have 8gb ram 4gb x 2 sticks i only can use 3.2gb and my motherboard can support up to 4gb if i remove the other 4gb stick and leave 1 in there, will i be able to use the full 4gb of it? details: vista 32bit intel quad core processor
A: Any 32-bit OS can only handle a maximum of 4 GB, but of that 4GB only 3.2 is usable as the rest is locked for the system. Even if u remove the other ones, it will only recognise 3.2GB. Only way to make the other 4GB usable is to upgrade to Vista x64/86. With x64, you have a maximum of 128GB. Hope that helped.
