Q: I got it in december, so it shouldent be dead by now. It has a little red light on the top of it that keeps going out then my mouse stops working, its a mi wireless optical mouse any ideas?

There is a box that connects to your PC and sits on your desktop that your wireless mouse / keyboard use to connect to (no wires, like a remote) move it to a position closer to your mouse. My problem was it was on the other side of the monitor and the monitor was interrupting the signal P.S. I've had my wireless for over 2 yrs and have only changed the batteries once.
