Building A Gaming Computer?

Q: so I am new to building a computer but very good with electronics i know how to put it all together but what to choose is wear i am having trouble. first of i have decided to go with a budget around 700 I know a cheap website. parts i decides are 880 GTS from geforce, other then that i am not sure if i should go with a duel or a quad processor, i want to go with 2+ gb ram, and a 320-500 gb hard drive i know its not much but any help would be greatly appreciated thx

A: I personally would go duel core, because not a whole lot even utilizes all the power a quad has to offer, not to mention that the new am+2 boards are getting crappy reviews... The board I have is GREAT, and you know asus is known for the overclocking options.. as far as ram goes...it really depends on what you want to use your comp for...if you want the nvidia 8800 gts ( go for the sc edition) , and if thats the card you are looking for , then I am guessing your a gamer... if you have windows 32bit os, then there is really no need to go to 4gig of ram ( 32bit only recognizes 3.5 gigs of ram), two will be ok..if you have 64 bit os, then I would say it would be a travesty not to go for all 4gigs ^^ here is my computer I built : ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor EVGA 640-P2-N829-AR GeForce 8800GTS SSC 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory (four gigs in total) Western Digital Caviar RE WD2500YS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive (have set raid 0) Creative Sound Blaster SB0570 Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card OCZ GameXStream ATX12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V Vantech's Tornado TD8038H 80mm black case fan (x2) Thermaltake A2029 120mm Case Fan (only one) Xcalibur ATX Computer Case my comp sounds like a vacuum, but there isn't any game I cant run nicely out yet to date. I run eq2 max settings with no issues, I run age of conan pretty good, and I run wow max settings no probs I also run crysis max settings no probs. Good luck to you, and happy building ^^
