Q: Hey guys I'm purchasing the XFX 9600 GT 512 standard card. I notice that it says it require a min of 400 watt. Is my power supply good enough to run this? Min Requirement: 400W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 26A or more Product: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/... My Power Supply : http://i34.tinypic.com/acan83.png Will I be ok?
A: Dude, you'll be fine. Although you have only one 12v rail, it's a 25amp rail. the Min Req says 26amps, however, that min is based on computers with a Core 2 Extreme processor. You're PSU has ample power to power the 9600gt. Make sure that you either have extra molex connectors or a six pin PCIe connector, which is required for the card. And the guy above me who's talking about only 50 watts remaining: the card does not use 400watts of power; more or less between 80-120 since it's a mid range card.
