Q: Its a ATI 3D Rage II PCI. I put it in the slot it reads that its there i went to add hardware and it says cannot be found. i got the monitor plugged into it and that works fine. my buddy had it in his computer and it worked fine. please help! It also says enabled but its not it says cannot start not cannot be found sry
A: It sounds to me like you are trying to add the wrong driver for the card. This is the usual error the drivers give when the wrong driver is selected. The ATI Rage chips are used on lots of cards and it's easy to pick the wrong one. Go to the ATI site here: http://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894 They have pretty good autmoated support for installing cards, finding drivers and even for identifying the exact model of the card.
