Q: for RAM PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GROUND MYSELF???What does it mean? and how do i install a video card.....? i have a desktop
A: OK first grounding yourself is east just touch the power supply or the case but do not touch the mother board or the hard drives first that will damage them!!!! You can buy a grounding strap that goes around your wrist or ankle from computer shops and it clips to either the computer case or a metal desk. here is one you can get and doesn't cost a lot: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1472799&CatId=1802 and worth every penny compaired to the cost of a new mother board or hard drive or other pc componites. download this program first and look and see what you have on your mother board ( slots for memory and video card types ): here is a web site you might like I know I do because it will tell you everything you know and things you didn't know: http://www.gtopala.com/ the program is siw ( system information window ) for the ones that don't know what it is and best of all its FREE and can run in windows and can tell you everything and I mean everything about your hardware. I use it to tell what temp my processor is running at and voltage my power supply is putting out! A must have for everyone!!!!!!!!! There you will see what type of card to get whether its AGP or PCI-E and will show you what type of memory and how much it can hold and most important what speed to get!! installing both are easy just locate where the memory is located and install the new one in the slot next to it and the video card goes under the processor heatsink in the open AGP or PCI-E slot if you do not have either one then you have to get one that is pci compatiable and you can get them at computer stores and at wal-mart just gab the one you like and install it. have fun!!!!
