Q: I just bought a new Acer 22" LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1680 x 1550. The monitor supports my current graphics card which is an Intel 82845G graphics but I'm not satisfied with it. The color "bleeds" and looks blurry with analog input. Since I don't have a DV-i port, will upgrading my graphics card allow me to switch it to digital? Also, will the new upgraded card fill the entire screen at native resolution (1680 x 1550)? P.S. I leave my resolution at 1024 x 768 because it fills the entire screen. My monitor supports DV-i, I just don't have a DV-i port on my computer for my DV-i cable!
A: yes it will make an eye popping difference when you upgrade your graphics card! If you like NVIDIA or ATI both have DVI connections even 2 or 4 connections depending on what you get and yes it will fill up the screen. Take a look at this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=28&name=Video-Cards First of all you need to know what type of slots you have in your computer ( agp, pci-e, or just pci ) run this program and it will tell you or just pop open your case and take a look. Here is the program: http://www.gtopala.com/ its FREE and get the card thats right for you!!!! Have Fun!!!!!
