Q: Ok here is the thing, i built my own system using a pcchips a15g motherboard. It says that it supports 6-channel audio but it only has 3 audio ports(mic, line in, line out). So my question here is how does that work, am I able to hook up 5.1 to it? I don't see how because I only have 3 ports, but I don't see what the point is in having 6-channels if you can't use them. Here is a link the the mobo specs along with the speakers I want to use if that will help: http://www.pcchipsusa.com/PCCWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=407&CategoryID=1&DetailName=Specification&MenuID=123&LanID=2 http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakers_audio/home_pc_speakers/devices/3549&cl=us,en
A: You can reconfigure the back panel sockets in software to output 5.1 sound: Once you've installed the sound driver & software, open it by clicking on the tray icon (looks like a little carb). Reprogramming the rear panel jacks is self explanatory from there.
