Prosesser Question?

Q: Yesterday a hard drive arrived that I oredered for my dad's birthday. When he was putting it in, he saw how dirty it was and started vacuuming the fans and all the things. In my mind I was like o great he's gonna break something. The prosseser came out and he tried to put it back in my it had the cooler glued on top of it. He couldn't pull the lever because the cooler was there. He took the prossesser out and those gold little sticks were bent. He started crying and that's not what you see from my dad unless it's because he has extrucient pain. He tried bending those little gold sticks back into place and unglued the prossesser from the big fan thing. When he tried putting it back into place one of the little sticks fell off and then again he started crying even more. I couldn't bare to watch. The reason why he was crying is cause he's trying to get his doctor's degree. He already has his master's and on that computer he had all his work on it. The question is... he boughta prossesser from compusa.com that's A amd athlon dual core prosseser. He also bought 1g memory. After all this will the comp be faster

A: Depends what processor and RAM he had before. Before he goes inside the computer again I suggest he does a basic IT course in IT hardware
